Scene 02 Get Your Kit ~7 min

Four things, no zip required.

Each item below has its own action — copy or download. The label on the right tells you exactly where it goes in Gemini's Gem builder. Click each row to mark it done.

01
Gem Instructions → Gemini · Instructions field
The full system prompt that runs your Gem — three phases (clean → interview → build), strict UI Library, audience voices.
02
Build your TEACHER.md → Gemini · Knowledge files
Your classroom context — fill in below and we'll build the file for you. The Gem reads it before answering anything.
A typical period works fine; doesn't have to be exact.
You can override this any time inside the chat.
03
UI Library → Gemini · Knowledge files
The full .ui-* class catalog the Gem uses to build your dashboard. The Gem reads this from your Knowledge and inlines its CSS into every dashboard automatically — you don't need to open it.
04
Sample Classroom CSV → Drop into the chat
Lab 03 data for 28 students — intentionally messy (mixed dates, name variants, "absent" as text, blanks). Use it as your first run-through to make sure the Gem behaves before you point it at real student data.
Once you have all four

Build your Gem in Gemini

01
Go to gemini.google.com, open Gems, click Create new Gem.
02
Name it Classroom Data Analyzer.
03
Paste the Gem Instructions (step 01 above) into the Instructions field.
04
Drag your TEACHER.md (step 02) and ui-library-complete.html (step 03) into the Gem's Knowledge files.
05
Hit Save. Test it: "Hi! Ready when you are." — your Gem should ask for your data.
06
Drop the sample CSV into the chat. Watch Phase 1 (clean), say go, answer the three questions, and your first dashboard lands as copyable HTML.
07
When you're ready for the real thing, export your Google Classroom gradebook as CSV and run the same flow with your own data. Sunday → Wednesday workflow.
